Free Events in June 2013

Welcome to the June Events Newsletter.

It may be winter but there's still loads for you to do.

There's one or two things you need to book this month but for most you can still just turn up. Obviously outdoor events are subject to weather conditions permitting.

If you like this e-zine, please do a friend and me a big favor and "pay it forward."

If a friend DID forward this to you and if you like what you read, please subscribe by visiting www.Free-Things-To-Do-Melbourne.com

Wednesday 19th - Chasing Ice at the Outside-In Cinema, State Library of Victoria, Swanston Street
In 2005 acclaimed environmental photographer James Balog headed to the Arctic to capture images for National Geographic to help tell the story of the earth’s changing climate. With a band of young adventurers in tow, Balog began deploying revolutionary time-lapse cameras across the brutal Arctic to capture a multi-year record of the world’s changing glaciers. As the climate-change debate polarised America and the intensity of natural disasters ramped up globally, Balog found himself at the end of his tether. Battling untested technology in sub-zero conditions, he came face-to-face with his own mortality. Balog’s hauntingly beautiful videos compress years into seconds and capture ancient mountains of ice in motion as they disappear at a breathtaking rate. 6:30pm - 8:00pm Call 03 8664 7099 to book.
