Markets in Melbourne

There's lots of music around to listen to at markets in Melbourne.

Most of it seems to be on only in the summer unfortunately..........

..........As I've mentioned before, this seems a bit strange to a Brit cos it's not as if the spring or autumns here are particularly cold and wet.

This is Code One the police band at the Queen Vic Night Market which proves I've been back since I wrote the Night Market webpage!

My favourite market music venue has to be the Queen Victoria Night Market.........

..........It's held on Wednesday nights in the summer........

..........See my comments at Queen Victoria Night Market........

..........They also have bands at the Queen Vic day market on the second Sunday of every month between November and February.

It says on the website there's music from 9am-4pm but I'd be surprised if it started so early - let me know!!

The Abbotsford Suppermarket also has good music on a much smaller scale but it was really lively when I was there with people dancing. See Abbotsford Suppermarket.

If you're local it'd be a great place to hang out every Friday evening.

The Rose Street Artists Market has occasional bands playing, normally on Sundays between 2-4pm..........

.........and at Prahran Market you'll find music in the market

Rose Street Artists Market

square every Sunday between 12noon and 3pm..........

........I saw some jazz there a few weeks ago.........

..........The market square was surprisingly quiet which was ideal as my 5 year old was able to play in the playground area while we had our coffees in relative peace!..........

..........They also do free face painting for the kids here at that time.
